Geaux Rebecca!

CPG is ecstatic to announce our very own Rebecca D’Antonio has committed to Louisiana State University! She will compete for the Tigers women’s gymnastics team in a walk-on position starting in fall 2018.

Rebecca D'Antonio Future LSU Gymnasti

Rebecca has dreamt of the day she could compete as a Tiger since she was a little girl. She started gymnastics when she was 4 and it’s been love ever since. She began her gymnastics career at All Star Gymnastics in New Orleans. During the 2015 Regional Championship she scored 1st on Vault and 7th on Floor. At the 2016 Auburn Classic she scored career highs of 9.325 on Vault in 3rd place, 9.275 on Beam in 1st place, 9.175 on Floor in 1st place and a 36.325 in the All-Around in 1st place!

The LSU gymnastics team is coached by head coach D-D Breaux, associate head coach Jay Clark, assistant coach and volunteer assistant Ashleigh Clare-Kearney. The Tigers have come close to winning the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics National Championship by coming in 2nd three out of the last four years. Could Rebecca be the needed addition to help take the Tigers to 1st? CPG certainly thinks so!

Rebecca’s teammates, coaches, friends and family are beyond elated to congratulate Rebecca and all her accomplishments that lead her to this wonderful achievement! GEAUX REBECCA!

LSU Head Coach Visited CPG

Did you notice a new, but familiar face at CPG Wednesday, September 20? Head LSU gymnastics coach D-D Breaux stopped by to observe some of the level 10 gymnasts who want to attend LSU in the future!

The girls were excited and eager to impress D-D, and they did. After seeing their Youtube videos online D-D wanted to see their skills in person and get to know the girls as well. Not only was D-D impressed with their athletic ability, but she was impressed by their academic ability as well. Athletics and academics are both very important for top athletes who want to be recruited by top schools like LSU.

Gymnasts in 9th grade and higher are considered “recruitable” by college coaches. BUT there are EXTREMELY important rules/regulations recruits must follow. For information on recruiting and important rules visit RecruitLook.com. You can also review this USAG powerpoint on College Recruiting.

CPG was honored to host D-D and is eager to have more college coaches visit in the future!
