CPG’s Recreational Gymnastics program is based on skill progression for the girls, boys and tumbling classes. Recreational programs are for children ages 5 and up. In the program, children work on basic gymnastics skills on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and Trampoline. We have 4 levels for our program: Emerald (Introductory), Sapphire (Level 1), Ruby (Level 2) and Diamond (Level 3).
*All beginner students begin in Emerald except students over the age of 10, who begin in Sapphire.
– Emerald
A 60-minute gymnastics class where your daughter will be introduced to gymnastics skills on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and Trampoline. She will learn skills such as running and jumping for vault, hanging and swinging on bars, walking on the balance beam, rolls and handstands for floor and jumping on the trampoline into the foam pit. She will also work on basic strength exercises and stretching.
– Sapphire
A 60-minute gymnastics class where your daughter will work gymnastics skills on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and Trampoline. She will learn skills such as running and jumping for vault, swinging on bars, walking and jumping on the balance beam, handstands and cartwheels for floor and jumping on the trampoline into the foam pit. She will also work on basic strength exercises and stretching.
– Ruby
A 60-minute gymnastics class where your daughter will work gymnastics skills on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and Trampoline. She will learn more intermediate level skills such as running and jumping to handstand for vault, pullovers and circles on bars, kicking and jumping on the balance beam, backbends and round offs for floor and jumping on the trampoline into the foam pit. She will also work on intermediate strength exercises and stretching.
– Diamond
A 2 hour gymnastics class for all ages where your daughter will work on more advanced skills on all events; Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and Trampoline. All students must complete the Sapphire and Ruby classes prior to advancing to this level.
– Tumbling Program (This class is seasonal and not offered by session.)
A 60-minute class where your child works on tumbling skills on floor and trampoline. The ultimate goal is to master the round-off back handspring combination. More advanced tumblers will do running tumbling, including back tucks and layouts. These classes also work strength, flexibility and jumps
